Making Money With Your
Website
Different Ways to Monetize Your Site
Ready to make some cash on your website?
There are several ways to add advertising and make a little
(or oodles) of cash. Here are the most popular methods:
Affiliate Networks
Affiliate sales are an excellent
way to make money on your site. Many web merchants, from huge
companies like Home Depot and Target to tiny mom & pop operations
have an affiliate program you can join.
How's it work? You sign up at one of the
major affiliate networks (it's free!), pick some merchants that
make sense for you site, apply for their programs and once approved,
add their links to your website. Everytime someone buys something
through those banners or text links, you get a commision!
The 3 Main Affiliate Networks
are:
Commission
Junction
Share-A-Sale
Linkshare
I recommend joining each one to find the
best variety of merchants to suit your website.
Google Adsense
(aka Contextual Advertising)
Google text ads...you've seen them all over the place, including
this site (you'll recognize them by the "Ads by Goooooogle"
text. It's a great way to make some dough & very easy to
integrate.
How does it work? You sign up and add a small
piece of code to your pages. When someone visits your site and
clicks on one of these ads, the owner of that ad is charged
according to a bid price they set on it. You split that amount
with Google.
Click prices vary depending
on how popular a subject/category your website is about. You
can make $.03 a click or over $2.00 per click, it all depends.
